Pennyburn Household Recycling Centre

The redevelopment and large-scale expansion of an existing household recycling facility, now the largest in Derry City.

We designed the new single-storey administration building with free-standing canopy, and a new white goods recycling building.

Design included detail of a new reinforced concrete slab, laid to falls as an access road and area for roller skips; and retaining walls for various boundary conditions.

We designed and detailed the drainage strategy for this complicated site, which included specific Trade Effluent discharge, together with traditional storm and foul sewerage systems that incorporated existing drainage lines where possible. The scheme included underground storm water attenuation, petrol interceptors and silt traps.
