Delamont House, Killyleagh
Delamont House is an historic 17th Century estate house overlooking Strangford Lough. It has been used as a residential outdoor pursuits centre for the past thirty years.
Taylor and Boyd designed a timber-engineered extension that was to be used as a new dining room for the centre. Access to the new dining room was created through a 700mm-thick stone gable, with needle beams and twin steel “picture frames”.
The timber of the interior was given a white wash to add to the aesthetic appeal of the expressed structure.
