High specification car showroom with offices, sales area, workshops and parts storage area.

Poor ground conditions were overcome by the use of a suspended ground slab on precast concrete piled foundations. The rear of the building, housing the workshop and parts areas, is of traditional steel framed portal frame construction with Kingspan wall and roof cladding. Exposed ‘Toblerone’ trusses comprising circular hollow section steel work span the car showroom and are fully supported on circular hollow section (CHS) columns. Full height glazing to the front and side elevations is restrained by steel Cellform windposts with intricate stainless steel pinned end connections. The mezzanine office over the showroom is of composite steel deck slab and beam construction.

All exposed connections were detailed to reflect and complement the high standard of architectural finish throughout.
