Seagoe Parish Centre
This new-build Parish centre is accessed through a link corridor from the entrance porch. This vestibule connects the historic 200-year-old main church and the modern building.
The circular reception area, incorporating a quiet room and meeting room, can be seen from the main road. Behind these are the general office, meeting rooms, a crèche, kitchen and stores. At the rear is the main parish hall, with accommodation to seat 300, and which is used for a variety of youth and church activities. The scheme also provided the Parish Centre with additional car parking spaces.
The single storey building is of steel frame construction, with masonry infill panels. The walls are founded on strips and the steel frame on pad foundations.
The sloping topography of the site provided an opportunity to construct a partial basement, thus providing much-needed additional storage space. (Image courtesy of Glasgiven Contracts Ltd.)
