Banbridge Leisure Centre Refurbishment
Taylor & Boyd provided c This included six x 7m circular hollow-section columns and bases supporting a flume, metal stair components and their associated handrails.
Some elements of the facility were repaired, others were replaced.
Engineering design included the development of GRP (glass reinforced plastic) housings to encase the bases in bespoke shoes, and we worked with a leading paint manufacturer and a pool specialist to develop specifications for a primer and protective coating that were appropriate to the context.
The flumes had been closed for health and safety. Taylor & Boyd prioritised the project to minimise the period of closure affecting the whole pool.
