Eglinton Primary School
The project involved the design and construction of a new primary school to serve a village community eight miles from Derry/Londonderry. Enrolment, including the nursery unit is in excess of 230.
Classrooms are set beneath a duo-pitched quadrant roof that forms the perimeter of a central courtyard suitable for science and a garden. The teaching block is corridor-linked to generous spaces that were created for staff facilities, administration, kitchen and dining, and for physical education.
The structure comprised single-storey blocks of load-bearing masonry, on a steel frame.
A new car park and drop-off were provided.
