Holiday Inn Express, Santry

The 7 storey extension in conjunction with the addition of 2 storeys on top of the existing Holiday Inn Express, Santry, Republic of Ireland.

The structure to the extended wing is a RC flat slab frame on pilecaps and ground beams supported on insitu bored concrete piles. The roof top extension comprises a lightweight steel frame supporting composite metal deck and in-situ concrete floors, with SIP wall system.

The addition of 2 floors to the existing building required a careful load balance to best utilise the limited capacity in the existing foundations. Existing reinforced concrete lift / stair core walls were extended vertically to provide stability to the steel frame.
