Little May Street, Belfast
This Grade “A” building was designed by an award-winning architectural firm as its Belfast base.
The scheme required extensive investigative works, with new piles and foundations positioned to avoid existing piles from previous development. Foundations were offset along the boundary to an adjacent building, with temporary shoring of a party wall required during construction.
The primary frame of the building encompasses four-storey steel sway frames with pre-cast concrete floors and raised access flooring, with a curved barrel vault roof and glazed lantern.
In addition to our engineering design of the primary frame we assisted in developing several key architectural features, including a feature canopy over the main entrance, carved stone lintels, and cantilevered bays along the external facade on the upper floors.
