St Louis Secondary School, Monaghan, Republic of Ireland.

A three-storey extension of approximately 1100m2 was added to an existing heritage building on a gently sloping site.

The project involved demolition (with managed asbestos removal by specialists) and construction on a live secondary school site.

The new teaching block was linked to an existing stone building without undercutting or subsidence.

The scheme required repairs to a collapsed culvert with associated flood risk.
