Pickie Fun Park, Bangor

 

This project involved the refurbishment of a public park adjacent to the marina in Bangor and included the design and construction of a themed 18-hole mini golf course in a steeply sloping woodland area of the site. Taylor & Boyd designed retaining structures and revetments, including reinforced earth slopes, stone-faced walls and timber structures that blend in with the nautical theme of the mini golf course.

Other works included underground rooms to facilitate plant for re-cycling the water used in the new children’s splash pad area.

A timber boardwalk was constructed beside and over the existing swan pool along with stone planters and landscaping works.

There was also an extension to the original building. Construction was planned to ensure existing trees and plants were maintained as far as possible, with minimal works near roots and by maintaining ground levels as close to the original.
